The lice group is doing well overall. They have a theory which is very recent and fresh in the minds of a lot of people. They also picked a topic that could get a lot of people concerned or interested in their theory. That being said, they seem to be presenting it in a poor manor so that many people realize it is a joke. It is possible that there is a more believable way to prove this theory and spread it, but their methods of the posters and twitter page is too in the open and doesn’t have the element of secrecy that a good theory would have. I am also not sure what they have for background information on this fact. It seems to me, that there are a lot of loopholes in their theory. I think they should focus less on getting their theory out there and more on the credibility of their theory. They are doing well making their theory known throughout the school. They also seem to be working well together, and to me it seems that the work load is evenly distributed in their group. I think their theory would do well for a larger population who wasn’t so tightly knit and that the joke of it wouldn’t spread as fast.
I think that their theory has been effective with the people who are involved, but I do not think their theory has been effective throughout the entire campus. Since their theory is a secret society, it makes sense that many people would not of heard of it, but if they were to scratch their symbol in trees, then I would think that more students and faculty members would be more aware or curious about what their symbol means. I do believe that their secret society has been effective with the people that are involved and those people believe in the conspiracy and that they are actually being summoned by this secret society.
The lice theory has been decently successful in being spread around. I’m not quite so sure that many Pomfret students actually believe it. There are probably about 20 flyers in the OSU taped on the walls and tables, so many people know that something is going on, but it doesn’t mean they believe it. All the posters kinda make it seem silly because they student body doesn’t know the evidence and logic behind their claim. The other group has apparently spread the theory through mouth and I don’t know how well that has been going but that could work a lot better and make it catch on more. I have talked to my friend about it, and he’s just seen the posters and doesn’t know about any of the background information that was used to make the theory and he said “Ya this is dumb.” So I think a lot of people aren’t taking it seriously, but may start to if they learn all the evidence and background information that the group has collected. The interviews are also pretty pervasive when they the teachers are denying it, so the video will turn out really well. Until then, I think they should try and make posters that show the evidence to support their claim and also spread it by mouth and give the evidence as well. Their theory is not one that people will want to believe or actually think would happen, unless they have reason to believe in it.
so far the other group has done an amazing job on there projects, there aren't many lope holes it is believable, they have not been talking about it with people so it is very unknown it is fake to the people who do know about it, and they have been very efficient in all their work
In seeing the other groups progression so far, I have noticed some quality that will benefit their overall outcome, and some that is not so good in itself. Beginning with the areas that could use work, their conspiracy seems to be very hard to spread, due to the fact that it's a secret society, you don't want people to know too many facts about it. Also, over the course of the project, it seemed that they were unsure as to who they wanted to target, in terms of a following, students may most likely shrug it off, and faculty will do what ever it takes to stop one little rumor, let alone murmurings of a secret society. Now for the good, to begin, their conspiracy as a whole is a great idea with a bunch of potential. The fact that there is a secret society on campus makes people think and doubt the schools standards as a whole. Secondly, all of the members seem to collaborate well with each other. Finally, it seems that their presentation is very succinct to this point, while there are still a few loopholes left to be patched up, everything should be fine come next week.
For the Secret Society groups theory’s effectiveness so far is doing well. I think that the whole idea that there is a secret society that oversees Pomfret’s traditions is a clever and interesting conspiracy to spread. Their methods of selecting certain people to convince have been selected as candidates for the secret society of St. George is well though out and could be effective as long as the people who have been given letters talk about it. Also the other ways of spreading the conspiracy by carving the logos into trees and showing a video in school meeting, is risky but will probably work. There will definitely be people that are confused except for the people that got the letters. In terms of technology, creating an email account and sending emails to the people also given letters to is a good use of technology. However, some ways the theory has not been effective is the select group of people getting the letters. By only selecting a small group the chance that the information will spread very quickly is not though the roof. However, it has only been one day since the spreading started, so the conspiracy probably needs time to spread.
While the lice theory is definitely amusing, I believe that their concept has several major flaws. On the most basic of levels, it simply isn't as plausible as other conspiracies could have been. The idea really is a lot harder to take seriously as it deals with events that we are all familiar with, and understand (or at least believe that we do) rather than something that we don’t really know. It seems that most people who see the signs simply view it as a big joke or prank, with no real dialogue stemming from the posters. Responses that I have seen have ranged from laughter to disappointment that people were attempting to blame the school for an unfortunate series of events. I also heard that people in the health center are upset about the posters as they feel that they are being blamed for the lice problems that the school has had. As opposed to our methods, in order for the lice theory to spread, they have to be a lot less subtle, whereas our conspiracy should be spread very slowly and deliberately. I think that it really is difficult to spread this conspiracy as opposed to some of the other ideas that we had earlier in the week.
The other group has done a great job outlining what their theory is and how it works. The video interviews they have brought in are also convincing towards their argument. From word of mouth I have heard a lot about the lice idea. However, it seems that the majority of people know it is coming from that particular group of people and is just a rumor. I am not sure how this has happened, but it seems that the secret is out and it has become more of a joke rather than a concerning issue. I am worried that by the time we get to the video there wont be much of a surprise for the student body.
The other group is doing a good job of being creative with their project. They have put effort into creating letters to send to different people. These letters are well thought out and are likely to contribute to the myth of the Order of Saint George. There is good thought and consideration put into deciding who the letters go to. The people they select reflect the conspiracy they are trying to establish. The markings the other group has made are widespread and well placed. They are usually in places of high traffic, increasing the odds that someone will see them, further perpetuating the myth. The markings are scratched into walls, preventing fade due to rain or rubbing. The research put into the video is rather extensive. The group attempts to have as much background information about the chapel, the Order of Saint George, and Pomfret as they could, in order to have a good basis for their conspiracy. They seem to be putting a great deal of work into the video as well. Altogether the other group has had a very creative twist on spreading their conspiracy. They have used many methods in order to have a diverse and multifaceted effort to spread their theory to as many people as possible.
The lice group has gone through great efforts to spread their theory, including making a twitter account and posting flyers. However, the theory is far fetched to begin with, making it difficult to spread. However, not many people have bought into their theory. Some have, believing that there could be some minor changes to make their theory true however not many even consider the wild theory. However, with only three days to make their theory spread, it will be nearly impossible. Although they made things such as a lice themed twitter page, it usually takes more than three days to make a twitter page popular. They have had people join their page, however, I have noticed that many of the people that have followed it, followed it as a joke. They also posted flyers around campus. Every one must have seen at least one of the flyers, even if they were trying not to. Although, the flyers appeared all at once, and within a day of the twitter page, combined with the aggressive push to spread their theory before the end of project pomfret, a great number of people are now skeptical, or have figured out that it is somebody’s project. Not many people believe the theory, although the group picked a challenging theory, and they are doing one of the best jobs they could.
I think that the lice conspiracy is doing very well in promoting their conspiracy. I think that many people have been making a joke out of the conspiracy but at least people are talking about it. The group seems to be working very well together but I'm not entirely sure if everyone is doing an equal amount of work on the project. This conspiracy is going to look beleivable I think due to the interviews they have collected. One in particular being Mr. Richards making it very beleivable to students seek g as he is the head of the school.
I have do not know a lot about the other groups effectiveness spreading their theory yet because they have not begun to spreading their theory around campus. But based off what I have heard about their theory in class and based off what I have heard they are going to do it seems like it will be effective. I have heard one person asking about the letters they have placed around campus. There idea to send letters to different students and teachers seems to be a very good idea, I think it could definitely make some people curious to what is happening. The curiosity they are trying to instill is key to spreading the world it will definitely get people to start talking about it and to ask questions about the Legion of St. George. The film should also be a good way to get everyone in the school familiarized with their theory. Their theory is also plausible which is important as it it allows the theory to spread to more people and faster without their team having to devote a lot of effort to spreading their theory. In general their theory seems very solid, it just need to be spread around campus for it to become more popular, but they are going to do that.
