The official story of the moon landing was that Apollo 11 was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and successfully became the first spacecraft to land people on the Moon on July 20, 1969. The accomplishment was broadcast on television for the world to see, and once the Americans landed on the moon the space race ended. Some people believe that America never landed on the moon, but that it was actually faked by NASA employees. Conspiracist claim the absence of stars in the film, the unusually high quality of the film, and other inconsistencies, found in the films pictures, and reports of the mission, suggest that the moon landing was faked.
Area 51 is a military airbase in Nevada that is located approximately 150 miles from Las Vegas. The theories are that the U.S. military is doing secret testing and dissecting aliens in the base. People say that the U.S. is "reverse engineering" alien aircraft into military spy planes. According to the CIA, released in a document in 2013, Area 51 is an air base where surveillance and aerial reconnaissance is studied. Planes like the U-2 and the Lockheed A-12 are produced here. During WW2 Area 51 was used as a gunnery range. The base is strictly guarded with motion sensor, cameras, and 24 hour military cruisers.
We will be addressing a couple different conspiracies on the Malaysian Flight #370 that went missing on March 8,2014 from Kuala Lumpur. Flight #370 went missing 94 minutes into the flight that carried 227 passengers and 12 crew members. The plane would of had enough fuel in the tank to fly for seven more hours from the last place of communication before it would run out of gas and crash. Since no one is certain what happened to flight, many assumptions were made about the where a bouts and the culprit of the sudden disappearance of the flight. Some of the conspiracies we will be addressing are the idea that the pilots purposely crashed the plane due to suicide, the plane has landed somewhere in Vietnam and the passengers are being help captive and the plane is going to be used for terrorist acts in the future, and that the plane got hit by a meteor.
The AIDS conspiracy theory is that the US government infected the Black populations in Africa and the gay population in America. Some people disagree that HIV directly leads to AIDS, but rather believe that something else along with HIV causes AIDS, which the government would’ve done. It is more commonly believed that AIDS began in Africa when infected apes were killed and their blood entered humans. Apes carry a simian version of the HIV (called SIV) and it is questioned how exactly it was been able to transfer into the human population because it is currently not known. It is thought that HIV was introduced into the Blacks in Africa through the polio vaccines and into the gays in America through Hepatitis B vaccine trails. A very short time after these vaccines were introduced into the respective people, there were sightings of HIV in people. Was this just a coincidence twice? The American government believe it or not has done worse in the radiation trial after the Cold War to test the effects of a nuclear fallout. They exposed radiation to mentally disabled children, pregnant women, and the testicles of prisoners (which lead to major birth defects in the offspring). Much is unknown about HIV and AIDS and how it all began and the conspiracy tells a possible way that it could’ve started.
In the upcoming week, our group will be looking into the Reptilian Theory. This is the idea created by former BBC sports reporter David Icke that all powerful figures in the world are nothing more than shape shifting reptiles. People who believe in this conspiracy believe our favorite actors, singers, and political leaders are really blood-thirsty, flesh-eating monsters. Also that these same people are responsible for events like the Holocaust. We will be delving into why people believe this wacky conspiracy and where it all derived from.
